The seal is half the size of the original Olympic Emblem Seal. Its material is precious jade from the same source of production —— Hetian, Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

　　The mahogany box holding the seal is carved with scenic spots such as Temple of Heaven, Great Wall, China Millennium Monument and the Olympic venue of National Olympic Stadium, dubbed Bird's Nest.

　　The Temple of Heaven represents the host city of Beijing, the Great Wall represents China, the Millennium Monument represents a new Beijing and the Bird's Nest represents the Olympic theme.
